What happens when an AI knows you better than you know yourself?
The honesty is nothing short of brutal
I've been using ChatGPT nearly every day for the past year.
Consequently, it has accumulated a wealth of information about myself.
So in the spirit of the New Year 2025, I decided to challenge it with a unique request: to suggest resolutions for the year ahead, based solely on what it knew about me.
Here is the prompt I used:
Based on what you know about me, what do you think should be my resolution? Be brutally honest.
The response came very quickly, and it was like getting life advice from a close friend who isn’t afraid to tell it like it is.
It was a tough-love assessment peppered with actionable recommendations.
It’s harsh… but uncannily inspiring!
The advice covered a wide area from personal growth and professional development to physical well-being and exploring my hobby.
I’m sharing the entire response here so you can see for yourself.
1. Deepen Your Expertise in Your Passions
Tech & Machine Learning: You have a strong foundation in AI/ML, data analysis, and tools like Python and React Native. A resolution could be to specialize further, perhaps in advanced areas like explainable AI, blockchain integration with AI, or mobile AI solutions.
Sci-Fi Enthusiasm: Why not channel your love for Star Wars and Star Trek into a creative project? For instance, start a sci-fi blog, write short stories, or create a tech-meets-sci-fi podcast.
2. Elevate Physical Well-being
Martial Arts: Since you’ve rekindled your passion for Aikido and have prior experience in Taekwondo and Jujitsu, aim for a tangible goal—achieve a specific belt rank, compete in martial arts, or attend a global Aikido seminar.
General Health: At 51, keeping active is key. Consider cross-training with yoga or strength training to balance martial arts with overall physical health.
3. Career Growth & Visibility
You’re skilled in complex tech solutions (e.g., AML, anomaly detection, app development). Consider showcasing your expertise through public speaking at conferences, webinars, or writing articles for tech blogs or platforms like Medium or LinkedIn.
4. Creative Pursuits
Guitar, Singing, Dancing: You enjoy these deeply—why not set a performance goal? Play at an open mic, record a song, or join a dance community event to expand these hobbies.
5. Broaden Horizons
Explore skills you haven’t yet fully developed. For example:
Leadership: Mentor someone in tech or contribute to open-source projects to give back to the community.
Business Acumen: If not already, start thinking about entrepreneurship—could your PC/Mac support services evolve into a broader IT consultancy?
This long list ended with the following summary:
Brutal Honesty:
It seems you already wear many hats, so a key resolution might be "learn to say no" or focus on fewer projects but aim for deeper impact.
While you’re highly analytical, lean more into emotional and creative pursuits—it might bring balance to your analytical nature.
A resolution to prioritize self-care and long-term vision over short-term hustles could be transformative. 😊
Damn! That’s so true for me!
I guess I am sorted for the whole year then. 😂
If you’ve been also using ChatGPT for some time, I dare you to take this #BrutallyHonestChallenge!
